Abe was born in Kingsland, Georgia He attending the local schools in the county and graduated from Camden County High School. Later, he matriculated to Morris Brown College, Atlanta, Ga, and received a Bachelor’s of Science in Accounting. He received a Master’s of Science in Personnel Management from Troy University and a Masters in Business Administration from DeVry-Keller Graduate School. Abe is a Certified Inspector General, Certified Defense Financial Manager, and Certified Government Financial Manager.
Abe has been employed by the Federal Government for over 35 years. He has worked for the Department of Army, Department of Veterans Affairs, and Department of Navy. He has served as an accountant, auditor, inspector, and investigator. He served as Deputy Inspector General for the Navy in Naples, Italy from 2015 to 2016; Deputy Inspector General for the Navy in the Middle East (Bahrain) from August 2016 to July 2019. Prior to his Federal employment, Abe worked eight years as a Tax Auditor for the Georgia Department of Revenue in Columbus, Georgia. He was the first African American to serve in that job.
As a visionary since the age of 7, Abe has spent over 38 years operating AJ’s Accounting and Tax Service (full and part-time). He is also the owner of Joseph Business Consulting, Inc. and HamJ Investments, Inc. Mr. Joseph has served a diversified clientele from around the world throughout his business career.
He has spent over half of his life serving as a mentor to middle and high school students. He has been instrumental in helping those students get admitted to colleges and receive scholarships. Abe has expanded his mentorship to college students and young military members.
In 2011, Mr. Joseph published his first book, “Creative Entrepreneurship.” This book was written to inspire new and current entrepreneurs to help create jobs and improve their communities. Abe is a strong promoter of small businesses.
